CHZ Lighting - LED Street Light Manufacturer and LED Flood Light Factory Since 2024
The Dominican Republic (Spanish: República Dominicana), abbreviated as Dominica. The name of the country means "Sunday, rest day", which is said to be derived from Columbus' arrival here on a Sunday in the late 15th century. It is located in the eastern part of Hispaniola Island in the Caribbean Sea, bordering Haiti to the west, the Caribbean Sea to the south, the Atlantic Ocean to the north, and Puerto Rico across the Mona Strait to the east. With a total area of 48,734 square kilometers, it is the second largest country in the Caribbean region. The country is about 390 kilometers from east to west and about 265 kilometers from north to south. The coastline is 1,350 kilometers long.
The capital is Santo Domingo, with an area of 1,302 square kilometers and a population of 3.339 million. It was founded in 1498 and is the country's main commercial, political and cultural center. It has many historical sites such as the oldest university in the Americas, the first church and the first castle. It is a tourist destination in the Caribbean region. The Colonial City (Zona Colonial) in the east of the city was listed as a "World Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO in 1990. Santo Domingo is located in the National Zone, and together with Santo Domingo East, Santo Domingo West and Santo Domingo North, it is collectively known as Greater Santo Domingo.
On November 11, 2024, I arrived at Santo Domingo International Airport smoothly. The client came to pick us up and sent us to the RAMADA Hotel we booked. The races here are relatively complex, including whites, blacks, Indians, and the offspring of these races. My client is a typical white person who immigrated from Russia. Her colleagues also have many white people, who should be descendants of Spaniards. There are also blacks, but the blacks here are not so black after hybridization. However, they inherited the strong genes of blacks.
Because it has been occupied by Spain for more than 300 years, the official language here is Spanish; however, because it is very close to the United States, it takes 2 hours to fly to Miami and only 30 minutes to Puerto Rico. There are frequent visits and communications with the United States, and there are many people who speak English here. It is really a hodgepodge. Because there are more Spaniards who believe in Catholicism, many people here also believe in Catholicism, and churches can be seen everywhere.
Although it is on the same small island as the neighboring country Haiti, it is very different from Haiti, and the economic gap is very large. It is peaceful here, with a high forest coverage rate and good infrastructure. But Haiti is still in a state of anarchy, with constant civil war and countless people suffering. Therefore, white people still make great contributions to social governance. Any country dominated by white people will not be too bad.
Because it is far away from mainland China, and it only broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan and established diplomatic relations with mainland China in 2018, Chinese people here are still rare, but in Santo Domingo, there is a famous Chinatown, and there are still many Chinese. Now the relationship with China is very friendly, and you can enter freely with a US visa and a Schengen visa; here is a tropical rainforest climate with beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. Every year, a large number of European and American tourists come here, and tourism is also one of the country's pillar industries.
I heard that Cuban cigars are very famous before, but I didn't know that the best cigars in the world are produced in the Dominican Republic until I got here. I was fortunate to visit a well-known cigar shop, where all cigars are locally produced and there are many varieties. The price is calculated per stick. The cheaper ones are about 500 pesos, equivalent to 8 US dollars, which is about 60 RMB. A box of cigars, 10 sticks, is at least 600 RMB. A box of more expensive ones can cost up to 10,000 yuan. No wonder the upper class likes cigars. This luxury is only affordable for the upper class. However, in order to commemorate it, I still spent a lot of money and bought a small box as a collection; the beautiful women in the store also took photos with me enthusiastically.
Afterwards, we came to the Colonial City (Zona Colonial) in the east of the city, which was listed as a "World Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO in 1990. From here you can see a very rich Spanish heritage and culture. You can see statues of the navigator Columbus and the famous writer Cervantes, as well as a very famous Catholic church. In the leisure square, groups of pigeons play with the crowd and have fun. If placed in other developing countries, these pigeons may have a miserable fate and can only become caged or on the plate.
Finally, the social security in the Dominican Republic is still relatively good, and the economy is also good. Every year, a large number of Haitians cross the border and smuggle into the Dominican Republic, which has some impact on social security, but also increases a lot of cheap labor. I have been to many developing countries, and Dominica is one of the countries with the best conditions, belonging to the same category as Mauritius, not that the market here is much larger than that of Mauritius.
What makes me proud is that we have contributed more than 10,000 sets of LED street lights to this country, bringing light to this country and making important contributions to energy conservation and emission reduction. Customers are grateful for our support and cooperation. It was dark, and I felt very proud looking at the bright lights of the whole city. Afterwards, the customer invited us to dinner, tasted the local food, took photos together, and promised to work together for mutual benefit and win-win results.
