　　The life of solar panels depends on the packaging method. Qualified solar panels manufactured strictly by the layer village process can last up to 25 to 30 years. However, most of the solar cell modules produced in China currently use epoxy resin 'Epoxy' sealing process, the epoxy resin will turn yellow and white under ultraviolet light. The actual life of solar cell modules is only 1 to 2 years. Even if the improved epoxy resin can make the life more than 2 years, it still Can not meet the requirements of use, and some do not even reach the 'energy payback period'. Even though some solar cell modules use the lamination process, these solar cell modules use poor light-transmitting ordinary glass and EVA and other poor packaging materials. In addition, the packaging is not strictly in accordance with the process requirements, and it is rare that the service life exceeds 4 years.

If a solar cell is individually shielded during use, the solar cell will heat and be damaged under the strong solar light, which will cause the entire solar cell The component is damaged, which is the so-called heat island effect. Even if the solar cell module is placed obliquely and installed with bird-proof needles, it cannot completely prevent the attachment of leaves, bird droppings or other obstructions, which requires workers to clean the solar cell panels frequently. In addition, it is necessary to check the tightness of all installed parts regularly. In case of abnormal weather such as hail, wind, and rain, protective measures should be taken in time. This kind of work consumes more time, manpower and material resources than the normal maintenance of conventional street lights.

At present, the service life of a normal battery is 2 to 3 years, and during its life cycle, the charging and discharging of the battery should be checked frequently, and the electrodes or wiring should be observed at any time for corrosion or poor contact. In addition, in some simple systems, the power consumption should be controlled according to the energy storage situation to prevent the battery from being damaged due to over-discharge. If abnormal conditions are found, they should be checked and repaired immediately. Coupled with other equipment (such as controller) failure inspection, it can be imagined that if the battery life problem is not completely solved, its maintenance will be an extremely heavy work. If the number is large, it will inevitably affect the lighting rate and the timely maintenance rate of the LED solar street lights, resulting in great safety precautions.
